The Significance of God’s Tasting of Worldly Suffering “When a person is without God, when they cannot see Him, when they cannot truly and clearly know God’s sovereignty, every day is meaningless, worthless, and indescribably painful. No matter where a person is, and what their job is, their means of survival and the goals that they pursue bring them nothing but endless heartache, and pain that is difficult to get over, such that they cannot bear to look back on their past. Only by accepting the Creator’s sovereignty, submitting to His orchestrations and arrangements, and pursuing the attainment of true human life, can a person gradually break free from all heartache and pain, and gradually rid themselves of all the emptiness of human life.” —The Word, Vol. 2. On Knowing God. God Himself, the Unique III “Because the essence of God is holy, that means that only through God can you embark on the right, bright path of human life; only through God can you know the meaning of life; only through God can you live out real humanity and both possess and know the truth. Only through God can you obtain life from the truth. Only God Himself can help you shun evil and deliver you from the harm and control of Satan. Besides God, no one and nothing can save you from the sea of suffering so that you suffer no longer. This is determined by the essence of God. Only God Himself saves you so selflessly; only God is ultimately responsible for your future, for your destiny and for your life, and He arranges all things for you. This is something that nothing created or non-created can achieve. Because nothing created or non-created possesses an essence like the essence of God, no person or thing has the ability to save you or to lead you. God Himself, the Unique VI In the beginning, the humanity that God created knew no birth, aging, sickness, or death. They had no troubles or sorrows, living a happy and carefree life in the Garden of Eden under God’s guidance. Later, humanity was misled and corrupted by Satan. They believed Satan’s lies, sinned, and betrayed God. As a result, they lost God’s care and protection and have lived under Satan’s power ever since, enduring a life of labor, sorrow, and pain. This suffering and distress make everyone feel that living in this world is too bitter, too tiring, and too difficult. Today, to save us, God has personally become flesh and come among humankind—He is Christ of the last days, Almighty God. He has expressed millions of words that can resolve all our difficulties and problems.
